I have over 19 years of law enforcement experience. I served as a 911 Call Taker and Dispatcher, a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Narcotics Detective, Sergeant with the Patrol Division and later became a Police Chief where I served for 8 years with a focus on Community Policing. I have several commendations for outstanding contributions and excellence in the field of Law Enforcement. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Elmira College in NY. I have testified before the VT Legislature and was the President of the VT Association of Chiefs of Police and member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. I have been instructing Active Shooter Survival for several years and hold multiple certifications in Law Enforcement including Crime Scene Technology and Drug Identification, Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force, Pharmaceutical Drug Investigations, Undercover Operations, Death Investigations, Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Leadership in Police Organizations, Identifying Potential School Shooters and Threat and Risk Assessment for Critical Infrastructure. I established a county wide dispatch center serving Police, Ambulance and Fire Departments and helped co-author Operation Borderline, the largest drug bust in Northeast Kingdom history. There are many different ideologies on how to respond to an active threat. With my expierence and having taught some of the others, I had the ability to choose and discern what type of response would be the most appropriate. This is why I chose to become the COO of Lockdown International. The option based techniques of Avoid, Barricade, Counter and Survive (ABC'S) easily and comprehensively teach an approach for the person involved to make real time, quick, and potentially life saving decisions under stress. The program also teaches simple techniques on how to save a life in the event of a traumatic injury, and what to do to prepare, in advance, of a persons response to an active threat.Since becoming COO we have launched new and innovative trainings on how to recognize pre-attack cues of workplace violence, reporting those incidents, and techniques on how to de-escalate irate individuals. We now also provide life saving products.We don't rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training. The simple and rewarding purpose of my position is simple... Save Lives.
