Vision: I aspire to create clarity for others in my vocation through leadership and wordcraft. I want to work hard and create value for those around me for the purpose of glorifying God and blessing others, whether they be my future family or current coworkers. Background:I am 18 years old and the second of five in the Dodds family. I graduate high school from Logos Online School in June 2024, and will be attending Bethlehem College in the fall. I am a member at The North Church in Mounds View, MN and serve weekly as an usher. Interests: I really enjoy reading and digesting knowledge. In addition to the classical books I read for school, I love to read expository works and fiction, though I used to read solely fiction when I was younger. But as I've grown, I now read books on topics from God's glory to decision making to the Reformation.Engineering Experience:I have been a part of a FIRST team for six years: two in FLL, and four in FTC. As a part of my FTC team (18082 Maniac Mechanics), I had my share of responsibilities. I oversaw the formation of each year's 15 page portfolio that displayed our team's accomplishments and designs. This meant I had to acquire the necessary information from each field (design, programming, community outreach) and understand it enough to summarize and explain it, with words, pictures, and graphics. I also contributed to the design process to brainstorm, build, and test components of our 18" cube robot, with lots of problem diagnosing and solving in between. One cool thing we did was file a patent for braking Mecanum wheels. As our main writer, I helped write the patent with my coach supervising. Currently, it is a pending utility patent.Vocational Experience:I have worked with my dad at his company, slashBlue as a marketing assistant. I reach out on LinkedIn and send cold messages to connections. I also use AI to create blog content and SEO tools to refine it. I proofread additional content and draft new social posts. Of these things, I most enjoy writing and editing content to be concise and to the point.
