Curious about people, cultures, systems, sports, history, etc. This naturally leads to cultivating multiple interests, soaking up information like a sponge, and making connections that were initially unapparent. Studying architecture refined my sense of detail, ability to communicate visually, and critically diagnose and assess problems. In the same way that architects convey the visions of buildings in their heads through drawings, models, and renders, I realized that analysts were translating spreadsheets and data frames into charts and graphs to convey insight. Solutions to the problems didn't always have to be a building. They could be a change in basketball tactics, public health policy, or anything that I was curious about. So curiosity led me to journalists writing stories driven by data. To online Python and SQL courses.
