Seth Haigh joined the VA in 2013, working with the PACT Demo Lab initiative nationally as a National Demo Labs Coordinator. Though housed at our Center and working with the VAIL team, he most directly collaborated with the PACT Demo Lab Coordinating Center in Seattle and was tremendously effective in developing relationships with Demo Lab members nationally. Among his many accomplishments was his outstanding contribution to the development of a synthesis report of national PACT Demo Lab findings between 2010 – 2014. He was a true and constant collaborator, always willing to offer support and encouragement to other team members. His ability to take on new tasks and master them was driven by a passion to carry out excellent work for the betterment of Veterans.

I also marshaled a 9-agency 40 person team on the $260M modernization of our Space-lift Range Operations Control Center. As well as modernizing our space launch planning, scheduling, and weather systems at both eastern and western ranges.

I lead inter agency teams on a special project that electronically integrated the exchange of location data at an enterprise level. My initial team began with a small group of engineers from MITRE who were conceptualizing how the military could use XML to reduce friendly fire damage and death. After building work breakdown structures, defining budget requirements, and briefing/demonstrating the concept to all available combatant commanders (and the Secretary of the Air Force – James Roche), the team rapidly grew to fit an accelerated development and deployment of the technology across all military communication systems. I personally lead a team of engineers and Special Forces members on accelerated development, production, testing, and in-theater implementation of the technology so it was available for Post 911 military activities.
