Provide all guests with superior service skills in order to create a satisfying experience in a fine dining, casual setting. These skills would include, but are not limited to, vast knowledge of wine and their pairings in order to enhance the palette with flavor, educate the guest when the opportunity arises about wine and/or the company, up sell food and beverages to build the average guest check, and invite every guest to be apart of the Wine Club.

Make recommendations to guests and inform them of any deals going on within the Café or the Science Museum. Make and serve coffee beverages including lattes, cappuccinos, machiato's, and/or regular coffee hot or cold. Consistently stay stocked up on coffee condiments, silverware, napkins and keep a clean dining area for the guests. Each week, once a day, help count inventory. Everyday store duties included:Opening café, filling register with cash, stocking case with food, making coffee, mop, and prep/cook food for guests. I was to train new employees on daily procedures when needed.

Creating a personal and professional relationship with every guest was very important at Olive Garden. Always ensuring the guests were very happy with their experience no matter what. Ways to approach this were by:-During lunch, ask guests about any time constraints they might have and serve accordingly. (i.e. recommend quick cooked items) -Offer every guest a wine sampling and recommend a satisfying entrée to pair it with. -Inform every guest of any new and upcoming promotions to ensure the best bang for their buck and that they return for another great experience.

Starting out as a food runner and busser, there were many requirements for this job. Upon opening, I was responsible for unchaining/unlocking the patio furniture and properly setting up dishes and silverware in a specific order for presentation. Priority for every shift was obtaining a "jacob's ladder" (as management called it), and checking the concierge desk for theatre numbers to be prepared for upcoming showtimes. Daily responsibilities as a runner included:-Tray serving guests with their orders as they came through. Maintaining excellent upper arm strength and balance in order to carry up to 10 drinks on a tray for fast reliable service. -Ensuring guests are always pleased with presentation of beverage(s) and food order and making sure they get what they asked for. -Properly serve wine bottles to the guest. Daily responsibilities for bussing included:-Knowing release times for each theatre in order to promptly be ready as soon as it lets out. -Knowing the exact amount of time required to bus each theatre before the next is sat.-Using proper sanitization and soap so leather seats are properly cleansed of head sweat, leg sweat, arm sweat and, yes, butt sweat. -Sweep every crumb of popcorn from floors. After being promoted to Concierge, my responsibilities were quite different. I was much more interactive with guests. My responsibilities included selling tickets, making announcements for movies, seating guests in appropriate seats, setting tables up prior to theatre seatings, assisting runners/bussers when volume was heavy, answering telephones to assist guests with any questions and/or concerns. Handling guest complaints properly were very important as a concierge.
