I currently serve as a technical lead in radiological engineering at NuScale Power. NuScale's mission is to improve the quality of life for humankind by advancing nuclear power. My role in NuScale's mission is to ensure that the plant is designed and analyzed according to applicable regulations and radiological safety standards. I currently serve as subject matter expert for much of the NuScale SDAA FSAR Chapters 11 and 12, the effluent release technical report, and the vessel fluence technical report. I have defended the license to the NRC staff and presented parts of the license to the ACRS. My previous experience as a contractor with AECOM (now Amentum) gives me a unique perspective of the overall role of nuclear power and nuclear waste. I have over 5 years of experience in the nuclear field, and 3 years of experience in a leadership role. Much of that nuclear experience is in an NQA-1 certified environment.
