About Seth Short
I fell in love with cycling as a college student and learned basic mechanic skills in order to keep myself and my friends on the road. Before long I was organizing social rides, volunteering with advocacy groups, and honing my skills by working various bike related jobs through the industry. I love the bicycle as the physical entity that it is, but what really draws me to it is what it represents and the opportunities it creates - sustainable affordable transportation, physical exercise, community building, and just good old fashioned fun. The point in equation where people, communities, infrastructure, and bikes all intersect together is what I love most about this industry. My bicycle has been changing my life for the better every day since I first hopped in the saddle. I know personally, and I've seen firsthand thousands of times in my career what a simple thing like a bike can do for someone. I take pride in creating that opportunity for as many people as I can everyday.

Community Manager - Recycle And Reuse Department
Current- Receive, sort, distribute and generally facilitate the donations of bicycles and parts (around 7000 donations per year on average)- Restore and refurbish bikes for our donation programs and to be sold in our shop- Teach adult repair classes and host volunteer events- Help develop new partnerships between volunteers and groups, and create new opportunities for them to interact in our space- Member of our Culture Committee, which helps to develop a positive, fun, engaging, and inclusive culture both internally and externally
