The Commander's principal for directing, coordinating, supervising and training the staff of 138 personnel deployed to Kuwait in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The principal coordinator for all activities for the staff, ensuring the staff integrated and coordinated its activities internally and with higher, subordinate, supported and adjacent commands. Recognized for:1) Synchronized the daily operations of over 10,000 personnel and $500M in equipment while preparing the organization to meet its strategic and operational objectives 2) Supervised a 138 person cross-functional (Active Army, US Army Reserve and US Army National Guard), salaried staff during strategic planning while solving multiple, overlapping, complex problems within a resource-constrained environment. Worked closely with the Kuwaiti counter-parts as part of the multi-national team in Kuwait. 3) Resolved the issue of an understaffed organization by implementing an aggressive hiring system that was able to increase staff fulfillment by nearly 60% within a 6 month period. This action allowed the commander (senior director) the ability to accomplish more projects and missions, thus achieving the strategic goals.

The result of the program was an inspection program that was capable of identify shortfalls and recommending solutions to the commander. 2) Excellent case management skills while processing over 700 assistance cases for the Ft. Carson community, earned the recognition by the Commanding General as the office with the greatest confidence in customer service.3) Recognized by the Forces Command Commanding General as the best regional Inspector General Office. 4) Routinely called upon to brief both the Commanding General and his staff to evaluate, determine a way ahead and brief the status of inspections pertaining to the command. 5) Engineered the rewrite of the local inspection policy; resulting in improvements to the overall performance metrics and processes of the inspection program.

Battalion Operations Officer (Operations Director) for a 780 Soldier Light Infantry Battalion. Direct oversight of the effective and efficient management, counseling, coaching and mentoring of the battalion operations section. Developed and maintained battalion wartime OPLANs. Recognized for:1) Led the operational planning and execution of a 700 personnel organization conducting government, economic, security, and development efforts in an austere environment.2) Built and streamlined an integrated staff comprised of stakeholders from US and allied military agencies, the US State Department, United States Agency for International Development and non-governmental agencies. These are the key stakeholders who are involved in the building of the future Afghanistan. 3) Analyzed the site security for over 500 polling stations for the inaugural democratic Afghan elections; planned and synchronized over 700 coalition and 3800 Afghan security forces for election security. 4) Established the first joint US/Afghan tactical operations center. This action led to the first fully integrated US/Afghan operations center.

I served in a number of leadership (management) positions throughout the Army to include overseas assignments. The highlight of this period was an exchange with the British Parachute Regiment. This was my first of many coalition events in my 20 years.
