    Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) is a non-political, non-military organization that provides for wellbeing of the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), veterans and family members. Established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors, FIDF is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation that operates 26 regional offices in the United States with headquarters in New York City. We are the single organization authorized to collect charitable donations on behalf of the IDF across the United States, as designated by Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, IDF Chief of the General Staff in March 2017, and by Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, IDF Chief of the General Staff in February 2019 and April 2021.The Israeli government is responsible for training IDF soldiers and providing them with the necessary tools for their service. FIDF is committed to providing these soldiers with love, support, and care to ease the burden they carry on behalf of the Jewish community worldwide.FIDF has consistently received the highest ratings for accountability and transparency from two of the leading independent charity evaluators: Charity Navigator and Charity Watch.     The International Sports Committee is a subcommittee of the International Maccabiah Committee and Maccabi World Union. The ISC determines which sports will comprise each World Maccabiah Games – held once every four year, following the Olympic year. The ISC writes and modifies all the Maccabiah Sports Regulations while trying to stay current with all international federation regulations, work with all of the Israeli national sports federations in the sports of the World Maccabiah Games, develop systems and relationships to implement the regulations and run all of the sports competitions during the Games, select venues, referees and liaise with other committees like accommodations for athletes. In addition, I am charged with recruiting elite athletes for participation in the World Maccabiah Games, this includes negotiating contracts, appearance fees and all logistics regarding athlete’s participation at the World Maccabiah Games.
