As VP for Business Development, Berry develops national and international export partnerships for a "blue bioscience" lab focused on sustainable, healthy farms and fisheries, and emerging as the national leader in fish and shellfish health diagnostics. KRB also conducts ocean-derived biotech research and advanced manufacturing to add value for key partners worldwide.

Berry's career in the Maine Legislature spans seven terms and seven successful elections, representing the people of northern Sagadahoc County. Berry served for eight of those years on the Maine Legislature's Joint Standing Committee on Energy, Utilities and Technology, and for six years as the House Chair of that committee. During his legislative service, Berry was also House Majority Leader, Assistant House Majority Leader, ranking Democrat on the Taxation Committee, and House Chair of the Joint Select Committee on Maine's Workforce and Economic Future. His policy work spanned all legislative committees, typically with a focus on long-term structural reforms.For his policy work, Berry received the Sierra Club Legislative Leadership Award, the Northeast Clean Energy Council’s Maine Clean Energy Champion Award, the President’s Award from the Maine Development Foundation for bipartisan leadership on jobs and workforce measures, the Maine Children’s Alliance “Giraffe” Award given to those who “stick their necks out for kids,” the Friend of Youth in Care Award from Maine foster youth, the Prevention Award from the Maine Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse, the Clean Air Award from the American Lung Association of Maine, and others. He is also a Margaret Chase Smith Distinguished Maine Policy Fellow and has served on a number of committees for the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Taught upper elementary and middle school students; all subjects. Led G/T program for school district, developed curriculum, and conducted K-12 best practices staff development across the district.

Led town on three-person board, including a year as Chair. Improved management of town budget, improved services, created first waterfront plan.

Designed and taught graduate courses for teachers in differentiation: meeting the needs of all students in the heterogeneous classroom.

Taught Gr. 5-8, dual language classrooms in 95% Latino, low-income community. Engaged students in urban farming and food production, literary production, and learning by doing in a rich and diverse city.

Taught courses for teachers in building from student strengths through descriptive inquiry and assessment.

Taught interdisciplinary Humanities classes and helped coordinate service-learning program while completing full-scholarship MA in Curriculum and Teaching at Columbia Teachers College.

As part of scholarship work-share program, assisted Professor Ted Sizer in his groundbreaking research and leadership for hundreds of progressive schools nationwide and around the world.
