About Seth Blank

Leading teams to build profitable and scalable solutions to complex problems makes me very very happy. For over 20 years, I've done this successfully for clients in fields such as education, finance, entertainment, and technology. My most recent business, the search and discovery engine YourTrove, was sold to Live Nation Entertainment in March '14. I took over the platform, infrastructure, and data groups at Live Nation Labs, which was responsible for all of Live Nation’s top tier customer-facing products. There I coordinated core engineering amongst the organization of 35. We shipped major new products including the platform, new web and mobile properties, the concert recommendations engine, and a data integration with Facebook. Additionally, I spearheaded recruiting, hiring several senior engineers over my tenure. Before YourTrove, I served as COO of two hosting companies, each with about 10 employees, ~500 customers, and thousands of servers. I also consulted on scaling and architecture for companies of all sizes, including various startups (WordPress, JustinTV before it was Twitch) and larger companies like Warner Music Group. Before all that, I ran IT and data center infrastructure for a brokerage in NYC and was responsible for the millions of requests and billions of dollars that ran through those systems.
