CurrentReporting to the CEO, responsible for leading all aspects of this high-grade, ‘zero-to-landfill’ recycling MRF (Material Recovery Facility) including sales and business development. Directly manages 4 direct reports, with 60 employees across 6 departments and an annual operating budget of $7M. Oversees 6 recycling collection services: certified on-site document destruction, front & rear load dumpster, tote/cart, bail route, stage trailers, and roll-off drop bins.• Created a sales and marketing team to include bidding on contracts expanding the strategic market position and which increased the recurring customer base by 107 in 2022. • Implemented a freight and transportation costs analysis process for each new and retained account to ensure the cost-effectiveness of the services provided which stabilized the client base related to revenue. • Partnered with global commodity traders to develop a bidding process for finished commodities which increased diversification and created a profitable new client base. • Successfully negotiated a service fee structure for a previously free service which drove profitability through increased service fees from $575K in 2018 to $3.3M in 2022. • Led the acquisition of a local commercial recycling business which created a 100% increase in volume and throughput of marketable materials.• Improved employee retention by creating job descriptions and position benchmarks with a competitive wage and benefits program.• Reduced expenses by the consolidation of shifts resulting in a savings of $15K a month in operational costs without reducing labor output.• Made capital improvements in replacing vehicles, which despite an increase in maintenance cost improved overall profitability from a loss of $500K in 2019 to +$1.7M in 2022.• Led the systemwide overhaul of processing equipment which improved processing efficiencies and increased throughput by 100% while expanding product capabilities and finished product quality.
