Profile bio

About Seth D. Webb, Maed

Dr. Maria Montessori understood that all humans are endowed with tendencies that instinctively direct our actions: orientation, order, exploration, communication, activity, manipulation, work, repetition, exactness, abstraction, and perfection. When teachers interact with children and adolescents in ways that hear the need-filled expressions of these tendencies we can truly connect them to the content at hand - and to their world. I believe the task before us involves creating an atmosphere that fosters a sense of the limitless; that is, engendering a feeling of “Yes!” In tandem with paying attention to each student's specific needs, we also work to delight and surprise. In so doing, teachers and students unite in the pursuit of knowledge; the conversation centers around us, and what we can achieve striving together. Dr. Montessori believed that education was the "bright new hope" for humanity. Let us follow her core principles and practices, and carry them forward in the face of new challenges and opportunities.

Listed skills include Curriculum Design, Staff Development, Classroom, Curriculum Development, and 46 others.
