After starting in the leave space nearly 20 years ago, I discovered early on that leveraging technology can revolutionize how HR teams approach for both leave and accommodations. At the time, most tools available made the process more confusing and none were designed for those of us managing the complexities of leaves and accommodations on a daily basis. With the help of some incredible people, I set out to build an automated, scalable, and robust software solution: AbsenceSoft. When founding AbsenceSoft, my hope was to provide a tool that could help Human Resource teams stop drowning in manual, administrative tasks and worrying about compliance (we’ve all been there!) and start spending more time building relationships with and caring for their employees. These days, as the Chief Strategy Officer, I partner with our internal teams and clients to ensure we’re providing the best solution to manage complex, dynamic policies like the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Always working to improve our platform, continuously validating product-market fit and keeping our teams constantly innovating to do more for our clients. I work closely with the Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC) and frequently present at their conferences.
