Seth Leibert is the Assistant Athletic Director of Finance and Business Operations with the University of Michigan Athletic Department with over fourteen years of finance and accounting experience in a variety of roles.Seth is responsible for leading the preparation of the annual operating budget, preparing complex financial analysis and reporting, overseeing the month-end and annual financial close process, and managing the day-to-day operations of the business office. In support of these goals, Seth manages a high performing team responsible for financial analyses and business services for the entire Athletic Department. Seth also serves on various department-wide committees whose purpose is to tackle Athletic Department strategic initiatives and address the changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics. Prior to joining the University of Michigan Athletic Department in October of 2020, Seth spent over seven years with Alvarez & Marsal in New York, NY as a forensic accountant and financial investigator, where he most recently served as a manager in Disputes and Investigations practice, with a focus on bankruptcy matters, fraud investigations, and litigation damages. Seth has worked on cases within the financial services, telecommunications, and hospitality and entertainment industries. Prior to joining A&M in 2013, Seth spent three years with PwC in New York, NY, where he most recently served as Senior Associate, and was responsible for planning and conducting audits of various investment companies.Seth earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance and accounting, and a master’s degree in accounting from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Michigan and New York, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
