Seth Mathieu Alexander Harrison, a Long Beach, CA native, embarked on his filmmaking journey at an astonishingly young age, nurturing his creative passion from the tender age of three. His inquisitive nature and fascination with the rudiments of filmmaking set him on a path to become a screenwriter. Growing up in Long Beach, he found abundant inspiration in his surroundings, and screenwriting became his creative sanctuary, allowing him to construct a realm of personal escapism.High School presented Seth with educational challenges, and he grappled with anxiety—a plight shared by many expressive Black students, often overlooked. Today, as a recent Graduate of Dillard University, an HBCU, Seth has channeled his own experiences into a wellspring of motivation. While at Dillard, he actively encouraged fellow students, who may have navigated situations akin to his own, to break free from conventional thinking and share their unique narratives. Within the walls of Film School, Seth realized that posing thought-provoking questions is an indispensable and enriching aspect of the filmmaking odyssey.Seth is committed to expanding his mastery of filmmaking's artistic craft and eagerly pursuing collaborations with seasoned industry professionals who can guide his burgeoning career. In an extraordinary feat, during his first year of college in 2020, Seth penned a full-length feature film entitled "Don't Talk, Just Listen". During his sophomore year, he brought it to life on screen with his dedicated crew, collectively known as the Broken 8.Responding to a perceived dearth of support from certain white professors and department heads, Seth took a bold step in the same year by founding The Frame, a student-led organization at Dillard University. The Frame is a haven for college and high school students, providing invaluable lessons in screenwriting, directing, and the intricate art of film/television development techniques.As a filmmaker, Seth Mathieu Alexander Harrison has proudly embraced the moniker of "Amateur Auteur Guerrilla." His work is celebrated for its visionary storytelling and scrupulous attention to detail, transporting audiences into immersive realms that resonate deeply emotionally and visually. Seth's creative perspective masterfully interweaves the nostalgia of late 80's escapism with elements of Afro-Surrealism, crafting a cinematic experience that is both distinctive and compelling.
