Seth Berman is the Co-Founder and CEO of Ethical Compass Advisors LLC, a consultancy dedicated to transforming the way companies address their ethical dilemmas by improving ethical decision-making. Seth is also a partner at Nutter, McClennen and Fish LLC where he leads the Privacy and Data Security practice group and is a member of the firm’s White Collar defense practice group.Seth is passionate about helping clients address the social challenges of new technology ethically and effectively. For decades, Seth has worked in the public and private sector confronting the legal and ethical challenges of the digital age. Seth is a trusted counsellor to companies and executives facing existential challenges. He is a widely recognized expert on privacy and cybercrime law and the investigation of and response to cyber-attacks. Seth also has extensive experience working with companies to craft governance and compliance programs and to assist with white collar investigations and government enforcement actions. Seth earned his A.B. cum laude from Princeton University and his J.D. magna cum laude from Cornell Law School, where he was an editor of the Cornell Law Review. He teaches cybercrime law and procedure at Harvard Law School.
