Water Solutions Engineer - Surface Water
CurrentWorking in the water group in Parametrix's Portland Office, I'm involved in an interesting variety of projects throughout Oregon and Washington. Recent projects include:• Regional Stormwater Facility in Marysville, WA. I am responsibile for storm details and specifications working under our civil lead. This would be one of the largest regional stormwater facilities of its kind, and challenges include limited site footprint, poor underlying soils, and designing for long-term maintenance.• Fish Passage Culvert/Bridge Replacement for two ODOT and two Cowlitz County, WA, projects. I'm modeling river hydraulics and prepare hydraulic reports.• TriMet's "A Better Red" project, where a mile of track is being added to improve service. I designed collection, conveyance and stormwater treatment systems and wrote the stormwater report.• Port of Kingston Stormwater Treatment. I modeled existing and proposed pipe networks in Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis with hydrodynamic routing to account for pressure fllow and backwater effects, designed the large treatment facility, and wrote a hydraulics technical memo. Challenges include a tidal outfall that accounts for sea level rise, complex system hydraulics, and designing to include many existing and future facilities.• Latourell Bridge Replacement to replace an aging bridge. I designed stormwater mitigation features and wrote a stormwater report.
