About Sethu Vijayakumar

My scientific research interests revolve around data driven Machine Learning and Stochastic Optimisation techniques that aims to address the unique challenges arising from and towards deployment of Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) technology across domains. I help shape and drive the UK wide RAS agenda in my role as the Programme Director for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at The Alan Turing Institute, the United Kingdom's national institute for data science and AI. As one of the founding Directors of the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics (ECR), my vision is to help train the next generation of RAS leaders while ensuring that we continue to do world leading and socially relevant research at our Bayes 'living labs', in collaboration with our industrial partners and other stakeholders.
