I assisted with a new initiative called, Computational Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS). I helped to create a website (https://www.bu.edu/chass/), contacted faculty to fill the directory, compiled resources for students, and coordinated a Spring speaker series. I also edited the videos for our Spring series.

My research focuses on the ethics of emerging technology. I primarily studied a group of people, called "transhumanists," who believe in using technology to radically change the human condition. My dissertation title is: "The Desire to Upload: A Theological Analysis of Transhumanist Advocacy for Life-extension and Immortality."

I worked with a sociologist, Dr. Jonathan Calvillo, to interview recent migrants to the East Boston area. Our central research question was trying to look at how churches act as a means of social support for these groups. We interviewed at several church sites before having to conduct remote research, due to the COVID lockdowns.

Working with Bernd Durrwachter, I developed a podcast on ethics in technology, called DigEthix. I used a list of case studies that I compiled to write episodes. I interviewed several experts on a variety of important topics, including simulation research, parenting in the digital age, and emerging technologies. I managed a small production and am currently mentoring a potential new host.

Under supervision of my adviser, Dr. Wesley Wildman, I produced a database of case studies related to ethical lapses in technology. We also performed research on peer institutions and made curricular recommendations for the ethics component of new PhD, masters, and undergraduate degrees. We presented our findings in a report to Provost Azer Bestavros.As a teaching fellow, I designed a project assessment that helps students to think about the benefits and risks that might come from their projects. I also meet with students directly to help them navigate these challenges. I guest lectured in several courses to teach the ethics curriculum. I also put together two discussions, one on SafeGraph and one on ChatGPT, at the request of students and faculty members.
