About Seth Winkelhake

Seth Winkelhake is a Public Affairs Specialist with Clean Water Service. He coordinates Student Education including the cornerstone River Rangers program and the Volunteer Program at Fernhill, a Natural Treatment System wetlands in Forest Grove, Oregon. Previously he worked with the Friends of Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, organizing school and group visits to the Refuge, managing Volunteer Naturalist who led programs, and oversaw nature curriculum development as well as Refuge social media profiles. Before the Refuge, he worked at the Tualatin Hills Nature Center, as Environmental Education Outreach Director. He organized Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District's Nature Day in the Park events with the goal of reaching people that live within ½ mile of neighborhood parks and connecting them to nearby nature which is within walking distance that they may not even know is there. Seth has studied Cultural Anthropology and Political Science at the University of Oregon. He has been involved with many organizations, including the Oregon Zoo, Jackson Bottom Wetland Preserve, Metro and the City of Portland’s Master Recycler program. He participated in a wildlife tracking apprenticeship and enjoys teaching wildlife tracking with all age groups. He has earned a Wildlife Track and Sign level III certification through CyberTracker Conservation. His favorite animals are rough-skinned newts and Asian elephants.
