As a Water Quality Specialist working for Boulder's Drinking Water Department, I collected water samples from the City of Boulder's source waters and ran a suite of analyses in the lab to monitor water quality changes and ensure the cleanliness and preservation of our water supply. I also maintained online water quality monitoring equipment throughout the city's distribution system, and supported regulatory monitoring sampling.

I worked under Dr. David Boutt on a USGS funded project, the goal of which was to map the isotopic signatures of surface water and groundwater throughout Massachusetts to better understand regional water cycle processes. I developed a statewide surface water and groundwater sampling program, which was utilized for the remainder of the project after I left the research group. My responsibilities in the field were to sample groundwater wells and surface water bodies, measure groundwater levels, stream discharge, and measure water quality with a YSI. I was also responsible for operating and maintaining analytical equipment in the stable isotope laboratory, (e.g. Picarro water isotope analyzer), as well as generating maps and figures in ArcGIS.

I assisted my hydrogeology professor Dr. David Boutt with his research evaluating the groundwater resources of Tobago. During this project I assisted the development of a hydrologic model and the conceptualization of Tobago's aquifer system. I compiled raw hydrological data into an organized database, and generated figures of groundwater well production rates, water levels, and geochemical data. I also wrote sections of the final report, which was delivered to the Water Resource Authority of Tobago. For my honors college senior thesis I used geochemical data from the project to understand spatial and temporal controls on groundwater recharge on the island.
