My primary focus is using natural language processing techniques to analyze chat data for health markers. I develop models to improve the delivery of behavioral health services.I work on applying heuristics, ML and deep-learning based NLP to increase efficiency and member well-being, and drive projects from conception, exploration, planning, development to inference and monitoring. In the process, I work actively with product managers to determine fit for ongoing projects and biggest movers.I am also involved in building frameworks and measuring metrics for assessing member progress and engagement over time. Combining and analyzing the data generated from various divisions of the company is also a part of my role. I am also a significant contributor to internal data engineering and data analytics projects.

I was a teaching assistant in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the graduate courses of Artificial Intelligence (ECE 595; Fall 2017 and Fall 2018 semesters) and Algorithms (ECE 608; Spring 2018 semester).I worked with under-graduate and graduate students on their projects and coursework. I was a research assistant in the Department of Computer Information Technology, Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, working with Dr. Xiao Luo on applying Natural Language Processing techniques to biomedical data.My research included the training, evaluation and comparison of word embeddings trained on non-biomedical and biomedical corpora for relationships among ontologically equivalent diseases, and disease-symptom concepts. I also experimented with document clustering as a downstream task for evaluating the performance of various word embeddings, to improve biomedical document search and retrieval.My other research focused on information retrieval from preventive care guidelines and clinical notes to provide improved preventive healthcare, and temporal visualization of clinical notes using concept clustering.During Summer 2017, I mentored two under-graduate students during their research projects as a part of NSF's Research for Under-graduates program.

I worked on the EmpowerMD team, within Microsoft Healthcare NExT, towards the goal of developing an Intelligent Scribe.I built a model that used word embeddings to generate vector representations of dialogs and mapped them to equivalent ontological concepts.I also worked on evaluating pre-trained word embeddings for downstream tasks.I developed an evaluation framework for speech recognition that focused on medical keywords.
