Seugnet completed her B.Comm (LLB) at Stellenbosch in 2005. As an article clerk she spent her two years of articles in the Conveyancing environment, honing her skills to specialise in Conveyancing. She was admitted as an Attorney and Conveyancer in 2008 and as a Notary Public in 2009. She initially practised as a Conveyancer, but after joining a new firm in 2009 she moved into Transaction Advisory where she practised for more than 10 years. During this time, she gained specialist experience in Public Sector law with exposure to high value catalytic projects, public private partnerships, supply chain management/tenders, providing opinions on specialised enquiries and drafting various related agreements. Although the public sector has its own legislation, private sector and public sector law do overlap, and this has given Seugnet unique insight into organs of state and the interplay with business.
