Dr. Seung Ryu has been working as an adjunct lecturer and casual academic at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where he has been involved in the projects related to AI, machine learning, big data, and data matching. He received his ME and PhD degrees in data science from UNSW in 2007 and 2013 respectively.He has more than 10 years of experience as a researcher, engineer, and IT professionals and has strong Research and Development (R&D) experience as follows:Research experience- Ryu is an internationally recognized expert in data science, cloud, and service computing, having published many research papers in highly-ranked international conferences (e.g., ICSOC, WISE) and journals (e.g, Information sciences, ACM Transactions on the Web, Computing journal). He is also co-author of "Process Analytics" book published by Springer.Development experience- Ryu has extensive software development experience gained from many research or commercial projects. He is technically proficient in AI, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) techniques, Java language, server scripting (Servlet, JSP), browser scripting (JavaScript, HTML, DOM, JSON), XML technologies (XML, DTD, Schema, SAX/DOM), programming IDE, databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle), etc. He has also work experience in a global company, Sun Microsystems (current: Oracle). He has strong analytical and programming skills and a proven track record for successfully delivering analytical and engineering approaches for given projects. He is passionate about developing data science solutions to tackle real-world problems.
