Hello, I am Sevana Cordero.I currently work at PCI Pharma Services, as the Madison, WI site’s Sample Coordinator. I work closely with all departments to ensure that, throughout all stages of drug development, our quality standards comply with Federal guidelines. My routine tasks include researching testing requirements, drafting specification documents, sampling raw materials, and coordinating ongoing projects at our contract testing laboratories. Effective communication and risk management are the two critical skills I exercise most in this role. My most recent accomplishment is designing a tracking system to allow for proactive review of raw material testing statuses. This project has allowed our site to significantly decrease deviating from our manufacturing schedules and reduced the generation of major GMP events.Before starting this role, I was pursuing my B.S. in Environmental Science at Kean University. I was an active researcher, throughout the entirety of my undergraduate studies. I have presented my research at several local conferences, routinely to audiences with 100+ attendees. The bulk of my research was related to ecological restoration with an applied interest in invasive species. I also interned at Jersey City’s Office of Sustainability. I played an active role in preparing and educating community members leading up to the city-wide plastic bag ban. I am very proud to say that as of May 2022, I am a first-generation graduate! I am also a firm believer that access to opportunities that support growth and education can be transformative for individuals, especially in marginalized communities. My academic and professional success is due in large part to the support I received from LSAMP, EOF, the McNair Scholars, and America Needs You. These positive experiences have fostered my passion for helping people. I am forever grateful to all my mentors and supportive peers. Outside of work and school, I am an avid fan of animated films, cooking, and handicrafts. Most weeknights you can find me snuggled up with my dog Poppy and catching up on the latest releases. But, on the weekend, you’ll find me whipping up a rosemary focaccia loaf from scratch and topping it off with fresh tomatoes from the Dane County Farmers' Market.Thank you for viewing my profile and I hope we get to connect real soon!
