Inspired by the complexity of agricultural systems, I am studying different concepts of plant protecting measures for a more effective and environmental-friendly plant production. My interests cover population genomics of plant pathogens, molecular plant microbe interactions and translative approaches to disease management.By making use of high-throughput phenotyping technologies me and my group investigate the astonishing diversity of quantitative disease-resistance in wild tomatoes. Finally allowing us to identify new traits for breeders and answer the question, how durable disease resistance arose!
