Waldorf University is prioritizing Engagement and Advancement as part of an institutional transition regaining 501(c)3 status. The university was under the umbrella of a for-profit institution for about a dozen years and had the opportunity for the Waldorf Lutheran College Foundation to assume ownership. Engagement, fundraising, relationship building, implementing systems and structures, and fostering and growing an incredible team are the starting points for this new era for Advancement. Go Warriors!!

In a post-covid move, the advancement, admissions, strategic marketing, and financial aid teams and leadership were built back into the organizational structure. In January 2022, the admissions duties transitioned to the new team, making my focus advancement.

The Office of Engagement was responsible for Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate and Online Admissions, Financial Aid, Philanthropy, Alumnae Engagement, and Marketing. All of these externally facing offices worked together to serve future students, current students, alumnae, and our larger community of alumnae, parents, friends, corporations, businesses, and foundations.

Reviewed existing processes and structures and identified gaps and opportunities; wrote policies and procedures establishing best practices. Increased collaboration between advancement services and accounting to free up 1 FTE. Direct work with donors to secure philanthropic gifts.

Chief Development Officer for the College of Education, we enhanced the engagement, annual giving, and major gifts profiles. The College was the first to reach the Mizzou: Our Time to Lead campaign goal, and paced well ahead of all other units for retention of Mizzou Alumni Association memberships. The annual fund grew significantly also resulting in a steady pipeline of donors for major gifts for the foreseeable future. Had record-setting fundraising performance; first unit to achieve the aspirational goal for the Mizzou: Our Time to Lead campaign. Served some functions of a chief of staff for the Dean.

Established a comprehensive philanthropy program which led into the organization's first comprehensive campaign. Due to the shift in the case statement embraced from the board through the staff, it was passed by the Missouri legislature and funded through the State of Missouri's complex public bonding process. Donors matched gifts for the building, endowed funds, and program support. The new building, the Center for Missouri Studies, opened fall 2019. Raised over $5M in a start up advancement office, and $30M for the building.

Fundraised over $23M in annual giving, and secured another $500,000 in major and planned gifts. Managed the team and the budget.
