Munich And Upper Bavaria

Since the beginning of 2021, I have been working in the cultural department of the district of Upper Bavaria as project manager for the introduction of a database for cultural assets and media management. The database is to contain the heterogeneous holdings of the district's cultural institutions (archives, museums, art collections and libraries), standardise the recording and make the cultural assets digitally and publicly accessible.

In addition to working at BR24 (in the search engine optimisation team - SEO) and at the research desk, I was mainly employed in the audio and video unit. My focus was on the documentary indexing and digital long-term archiving of radio and television broadcasts and web-only content. I decided on the archival value of radio contributions on current events, with a view to the reporting of the Upper Bavarian regional studios. For the processing of the holdings, I created documentary guidelines to standardise the indexing of the content. The smooth migration of metadata from the editorial systems to the archive databases was my responsibility. This includes creating specifications and mapping for interfaces. Cooperation with IT is crucial here to avoid data loss and ensure efficient research. As a requirements generator and quality manager for external service providers, I was responsible for the development of accessible test databases for semi-automated evaluation. The implementation of artificial intelligence methods (including face recognition and speech recognition) is essential here. I was responsible for the go-live of the audio mining platform (SAM) at Bavarian Broadcast and was involved in second-level support.
