    Studec Apr 2016 - Jun 2020
    Toulouse Area, France
As a technical translator translating from French and Spanish into English, I specialised in the exciting and fast-paced world of aeronautics. From one day to another, I could be translating a document about the most complex aspects of an engine, to air traffic control and flight time regulations for pilots and crew members. The work was varied and I took pride in my ability to communicate with customers and colleagues alike. I progressively took on more responsibilities, including processing customer requests, providing quotations and leadtimes, as well as liaising with subcontractors and coordinating in-house for large translation projects.I successfully became certified as a first aider at work, having completed the French training as a Sauveteur Secouriste au Travail (SST).

Gap Year (New Zealand And South-East Asia)
    N/A Feb 2015 - Feb 2016
I spent one year travelling with my partner with only a backpack as our home and an accordion for company. The experience was a profound one, challenging my views of the world and my ability to adapt to sometimes difficult circumstances. Volunteering has always played a key role in my life and was the perfect oppotunity to get to know people better, delving under the surface to better understand and adapt to different cultures. This year out has not been wasted lounging around on a beach - far from it, I've worked on a series of farms in New Zealand, worked as a temp in Christchurch and volunteered as an English teacher on two occasions in Laos and in Thailand. Teaching was an enriching experience and I learnt how to prepare interesting, fun and instructive lessons.
