The Franco American Commission seeks to develop mutual understanding between France and the United States through educational and cultural exchanges. It was created in 1948 to administer the Fulbright program funded by the American Department of State and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.The Commission provides grants to French and American students (graduate and post-graduate levels), young professionals, and scholars wishing to expand their educational experience during a year in the host country.I started at the Commission in 2006 as program officer to organize the annual conference of European Fulbright Directors and a symposium at UNESCO (150 participants over a week). I was then asked by the State Department to implement a program aimed at highschool students.In 2008 I was promoted to the position of Head of the French Section overseeing the grant program for French candidates (communication, recruitment, visa application, reporting). I receive around 400 applications per year for a final 70 laureates over 5 separate programs.

Paris

As an intern at the Cultural Affairs office at the US Embassy in Paris I was involved in all the projects over a period of 6 months. I worked with the Ambassador's office to translate speeches and staff events, liasing with security and organizers.

Stockholm, Suède

I worked with the Cultral Affairs Councellor, preparing the French Week in Stockholm. I also assisted the First Councellor and wrote a Diplomatic Cable on Asylum Rights.
