ABOUT THE JORDAN RIVER VILLAGE: Inspired by the legendary actor Paul Newman and founded by Chaim Topol and the late Murray & Marilyn Grant, Jordan River Village is Israel’s only free, medically safe, camp for all children living with serious medical conditions. Since opening nearly 10 years ago, the Village has changed the lives of more than 25,300 children of every background, religion, ethnicity, and physical limitation. The Village offers on-campus sessions and various off-campus programs–all provided with the full support of our medical team. In addition, the Village has an incredible ripple effect—our programs change children’s lives, strengthen families, and empower communities. OUR CAMPERS: They come from all over Israel to the camp located in the Galil. Our campers live with variety of serious and chronic illnesses and represent the gamut of Israeli society—Jewish, Muslim, Druze and Christian; Hebrew and Arabic speakers ; religious and secular, as well as those whose diseases can be seen and those who look completely healthy. No child is ever turned away because of race, religion, ethnicity, or socio-economic level.
