Editor In Chief
I oversaw the newsroom, audience and events teams. During my tenure the Tribune won a National Magazine Award and the Collier Prize for State Government Accountability and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist — all for the first time.
Editorial Page Editor
I oversaw the editorial board, Op-Ed page and Sunday Opinion section at the Los Angeles Times, the largest news organization in California and the American West. I oversaw work that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing in 2021.
Deputy Managing Editor
I oversaw foreign and national news coverage; the front page; the Data and Graphics Department; the multiplatform copy desks; newsletters; and the editorial library. I also supervised the home page and audience engagement teams and helped reorganize them into an integrated News Desk.
International News Editor
I served as a bridge between the Express Desk and the International Desk; broadened the reach of the international report; and helped manage the flow of news across the Asia, Europe and US newsrooms.
International News Editor, London
I helped oversee coverage of breaking news in Europe, the Middle East and Africa across The New York Times’s digital and print platforms.
Deputy Editor, Op-Ed/Sunday Review
As deputy editor of the Op-Ed/Sunday Review desk, I helped oversee the team of editors and researchers who solicit, commission, select and present opinion essays by outside writers — scholars, policy makers, activists, novelists, etc. — for the opinion pages of The New York Times and The International New York Times.
Washington Correspondent
As a correspondent in The Times's Washington bureau, I covered the Federal Reserve, the Treasury Department, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and trade issues.
Metro Reporter; City Room Bureau Chief
I started as the transportation reporter, moved to the City Hall bureau and then helped start and run the City Room blog for three years.
