I was hired to create a Photography department at NEW College Pontefract. This quickly grew to be the biggest subject area at the college and one of the largest Photography department in the country, with in access of 450 photography students. Specialising in practical, creative, modern teaching with a underpinning in traditional processes. I believe that Photography is art with a camera and my ethos revolves around creative thinking, sketchbook construction and page layout, the importance of contextual referencing and both digital and darkroom processes.The department now sits under the collective titles of 'Visual Arts' including Textiles, Design, Fine Art and Foundation Diploma of which I am now Head.
