Based in Dublin, working in both Ireland and the Netherlands, I currently a Senior Cost Manager specialising in cost management for variety commercial assets including office, pharmaceutical, production and industrial. I was responsible for starting the CBRE Netherlands Cost Management team by implementing a structured and progressive cost-management process within the company, by combining the traditional Dutch model, with aspects of the UK and Ireland's Quantity Surveying role. In my primary role, I focus on cost assessment, building measurement, budget creation and cost management for large-scale commercial works, as well as overseeing the negotiation and management of the tender process for a range of clients from a variety of sectors including Global Media, Technology, Pharma and Finance. Having recently spearheaded the introduction of digital measurement/take-off within the company, I'm also developing a wide base of standard documentation and client/market based tools which help our team deliver added value to clients. My background is in Quantity Surveying, having studied Construction Economics and Management (Quantity Surveying) in the Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street and have successfully obtained my MRICS accreditation. In my prior role I was also a fully qualified Insurance Loss Adjuster with experience in both domestic and commercial property loss claims. My prior position in with Thornton & Partners Loss Adjusters (APA and CIP qualified) saw me focus on claim validation and cost control. Working with a number of multi-national Insurers, as well as general contractors, architects, engineers, etc., I used my construction and insurance expertise to provide an efficient claims handling process for customers.
