Command Chapter LX of the Special Forces Association (SFA LX), doing business as the Tampa Green Beret Association (TGBA), both not-for-profit fraternal veteran’s organizations created for the benefit of Special Forces soldiers and their families in the Tampa Bay area. The Chapter supports the local special operations community, including the SOF Warrior Foundation, SOF Memorial Foundation, and other charity & veterans’ groups, and sponsors its own Richard J. Meadows annual Scholarship program for eligible college-bound children of Special Forces, and other Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel. Our Team House project will construct a building right outside MacDill AFB that will connect SOF members and their families to the community by way of career counseling and business development, providing a location for professional networking and pursuit of earned veterans’ benefits for those who are transitioning to civilian life in the Tampa Bay area.We envision the TGBA Team House becoming the center of Special Operations outreach to the local community, hosting social events, briefings, and seminars highlighting the activities, capabilities, and benefits to the community of America's most professional warriors and their families. In addition, the Team House will become a focal point for non-profit organizations supporting the community through a network of companies and organizations that provide services and assistance to veterans. This network will meet regularly to improve veteran support in the Tampa Bay area, and for those companies and organizations that don’t have a facility to conduct their business meetings and events, the Team House will provide that capability. Lastly, rental of the building for other events and activities will generate funding for scholarship and other educational and charitable initiatives supporting the Special Operations and greater veterans’ community here in Tampa Bay.
