I have taken a role to lead Sherwin Williams Protective and Marine Division's efforts at growth in the Global Marine Coatings Market

Providing consulting services to the global paint and chemicals markets. Customers include a variety of Private Equity companies, Hedge Funds and mid to large gloabl manufacturers.

• Managed and controlled the communications, marketing, product management and business development functions of the new $1 billion PPG Protective and Marine Coatings business.
• Managed and provided the leadership to insure the business unit’s successful integration of the legacy Ameron, PPG and SigmaKalon businesses including 12 factories, 2500 people and more than 600 product lines.
• Directed the businesses successful efforts in doubling its profitability to 14% during 2008.
• Grew PPG’s marine business 46% in 15 months, mostly by building a grassroots sales team in Asia that was complemented by PPG existing manufacturing capabilities.
• Managed the integration efforts of the Ameron business into the existing PPG, allowing doubling of returns to 8% in 2007, while sales grew globally at 40+%.

• Directed a $225 million, highly profitable, global high-performance coatings business.
• Successfully directed the sale of the business to PPG when Ameron determined Coatings to no longer be a strategic focus; achieved a 157% return on investment.
• Brought leadership to a business that had been without consistent direction for more than a decade.
• Implemented a very “flat” organization where rapid, concise and interactive communication – both internally and with our customers – driving both growth (45%) and improved profitability (100%) of the business.
• The principal architect of Ameron’s entry into the Pacific Rim marine and protective coatings markets, including establishing new operations in Korea and China, adding nearly $20 million a year in sales.
• Acted as the primary catalyst in creating an extremely communicative, responsive and successful management team and workplace.

• Directed the group’s strategic planning and marketing programs.
• Managed the global product line and successfully reduced SKU’s from over 14,000 to 1,200 after three acquisitions.
• Directed all pricing programs, resulting in $7 million of increased profitability.
• Managed distributor sales growth initiative, resulting in a doubling of sales, to $18 million.
• Managed Ameron’s worldwide engineering sales effort, including directing a program to get Ameron’s new polysiloxane chemistry accepted as the standard of performance by the world’s principal engineering firms.
