I lead the agile transformation and creation of frameworks and culture of a large and diverse team of 12 developers and testers. I have increased the teams agile maturity, velocity and communication, continually reporting on this progress to the project and programme leads via sophisticated tailor made metrics. The transparency and ease of consumption of these metrics has enabled project decisions to be made with confidence and additional resources well targeted to boost the project when needed. The project is focused on the replacement of a legacy information system for a large Federal Government client with a focus on securely integrating the finished product into a complex existing and growing ecosystem. The backlog contains items spanning documentation, security, infrastructure and business analysis as well as traditional software development. The frameworks I develop are used by a wider set of team members specialising in business analysis and change management to ensure the entire pipeline from conception, to development, to testing and final deployment to production is transparent, auditable and flexible and results in great throughput of the extended team.

Using High Performance Computing facilities to simulate cyclone hazard across various sites across the country. Modelled scenarios are assessed for impact on building stock along coastal towns exposed to severe wind hazard.My responsibilities include concurrent late stage project management for two multi year projects producing tropical cyclone impact assessments for state emergency service end users, and a three year collaboration project with the Bureau of Meteorology and various universities funded via a Cooperative Research Council grant.I am also leading the development of software that allows users to select simulated cyclone events from the Tropical Cyclone Hazard Assessment as well as house the capability to use those scenarios to kick off their own modelling and impact simulations.

My role as Lead Iteration Manager entails the development, communication and running of the overarching frameworks that govern the work of 7 Multidisciplinary Scientific Software Development Teams (MDTs) of 5-9 people each. These teams work closely with Science Leaders in the organisation to develop and maintain 150+ Digital Products that perform various functions, examples among them: -ingesting raw geophysical instrumentation data, -processing archived satellite imagery and raw streaming data from space, -underpinning critical Earthquake and Tsunami Warning systems, -developing web portals to share refined Geoscientific information with the public and, -cutting edge machine learning techniques to subsurface mapping via magnetotelluric and passive seismic techniques.I am responsible for running the quarterly planning events that govern how these MDTs prioritise and scope out their work so that it is transparent and continually aligned with the organisations priorities and value streams. I drive cultural changes throughout these teams, their stakeholders in the Science Areas and the wider organisation in terms of the benefits of modern, tailored and context specific implementations of Lean, Agile and Cynefin thinking in the APS context.I achieve this using well practised communication skills and a focus on trusted personal relationships with staff from junior software developers and their leaders to senior science leaders in the organisation. I synthesis the varied and vast array of complex work the MDTs tackle every financial quarter into a fully transparent and available format available to senior leaders on demand. The impact is the removal of reporting burdens and a confidence the Teams are, verifiably, always focused on the priorities of the organisation.

Continuing management of the Australian Flood Studies Database and the Australian Flood Risk Information Portal. Data modelling of the flood information contained in flood studies and the creation of systems to share such information via machine to machine communications.Product owner for an Agile software development team working towards continuous improvement of the Australian Flood Risk Information Portal and the services it provides.

Managing and sourcing data for entry into the Australian Flood Studies Database as part of theNational Flood Risk Information Project. Responsibilities include: corresponding with state depart-ments that commission ood studies, training others in the reading and archiving of ood studiesproduced by consultant for local governments, directing improvements to the data entry processand facilitating close communications between business and IT as the Product Owner of an AgileSoftware Development Team. Production and maintenance of data entry and quality assurance guide-lines. Also have been involved in inuencing the way ood science is undertaken in Australia throughGeoscience Australia's membership of the National Flood Risk Advisory Group. Other duties haveinvolved archiving the previous work in WA storm surge modelling and training other sta in theprocess of running similar models on the National Computational Infrastructure. Most recently Ihave been undertaking business analysis work while leading a software development team to improvethe Australian Flood Risk Information Portal and getting our systems ready to exchange web serviceinformation. I have created the data model for the Australian Flood Studies Database that enablesits information to be shared via ANZLIC compliant XML les via web services.

My work focused on applying the open source hydrodynamic code ANUGA to coastal Western Australia and produced inundation maps for several climate change effected scenarios. I wrote code linking the Fortran outputs of a consultants input model to the python inputs used in ANUGA and modified the modeling processes to take advantage of Geoscience Australia's access to the National Computational Infrastructure super computer resources. This resulted in the ability to run the practical ANUGA models in unprecedented detail and time frames. The hazards involved storm surge, climate change related sea level rise and riverine flooding. Updating, creating and performing quality assurance on data for the Australian Flood Studies Database was also a large part of my duties.

I created a Matlab supply chain numerical model of the liquid fuels sector and risk analysisin other infrastructure sectors including electricity, banking & finance and communications. This included designing a mathematical approach to assigning nodes in a network a "criticality" number that was used to rank the overall resilience of networks. Analysis focused on economic, social and physical effects of critical infrastructure failure due to all hazards (natural and man made).

As Digital Delivery Manager for the Digital Strategy and Transformation Team I am responsible for setting in place new ways of working that take advantage of current best practice in Lean-Agile thinking and complex adaptive systems. I have tailored the tools available (Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, Teams and Jira) to serve the team by helping plan & deliver work transparently in quarterly and fortnightly increments.I have automated the tools to produce adaptable reporting tailored to the changing priorities of the executive that align with wider reporting responsibilities across the Corporate Group. This transparency has resulted in tighter project definition and planning allowing more robust decision making and targeted resource prioritisation.I mapped out the process of defining Services for the team as it begins it journey to become a best practice example of a Service Oriented business unit for others to follow. The service descriptions I created include the latest aspects of ITL and TBM thinking as well as drawing heavily on successful implementation examples in comparable government IT departments.
