My first responsability at Tanner was to define the current shape of the IT Department, leading 6 different Teams (DevOps, Data Intelligence, PMO, Software Factory and IT Management) composed by a internationally diverse team of over 70 highly skilled professionals.Some of my team's achievements were:• To define and implement a governance model for our Microsoft Azure based cloud infrastructure and workloads.• To define and implement a chargeback model in order to make the LOB and other client areas responsible for their own operations costs.• To rightsize the received cloud infrastructure, reducing costs and multiplying the workloads.• To upgrade the existing data centers to a modern hyperconvergence infrastructure.• To set up -from the ground up- our internal Software Factory, replacing 100% of our external vendors with our own team and taking over the legacy codebase.• To define a proper technological stack of languages, methodologies and tools in order to establish our current CI/CD machinery.• To establish a DevOps practice -with 7x24x365 service- focused in the availability of our core transactional systems and the associated infrastructure.• To establish and implement a containers based (K8s) infrastructure for all ours operative environments.• To define and govern a Cloud Center of Excelence in order to optimize our cloud based infrastucture and related expenses.• To define deploy and support our VPN hyperconvergent infrastructure in order to provide support for our remote workforce from October '19 and during the whole COVID-19 pandemic, avoiding any operative disruptions.• To integrate Microsoft Teams with the PSTN (in a high availability model) service in order to continue using the well know phone numbers, providing seamless service to our internal and external clients.• To create an internal cyber security team and to implement and adopt a fully automated -but manned supervised- mechanisms of alerting and response to incidents.

During my career as a developer I've worked in the most eclectic environments you can imagine, but after my first years developing commercial apps in Clipper, dBase, C and Pascal environments I've started specializing myself in the (at that time) emerging Windows ecosystem.Starting prior to Windows 3.x I've been programing and providing consulting to companies of all sizes in Argentina and in neighbor countries, and started traveling abroad in order to participate in conferences and specialized trainings. On that early times I've started traveling to the US sponsored by Microsoft de Argentina in order to receive ad-hoc training in their Redmond, WA head quarters.From 1996 to 2000 I've been contracted by Microsoft Corporation as a full time employee (at the MCS, Microsoft Consulting Services division) but after that I've continued my career as freelance developer and consultant until today.Starting around 2005 I've worked developing web applications in the MAMP/WAMP/LAMP/XAMPP environments, using all sorts of frameworks, CMSs and coding from scratch. Right now I continue using those platforms in my company Alegua, providing all kind of solutions to a handful of loyal and highly satisfied customers.

In this, my photographic venture, I offer to my customers all my expertise in the fields of color management, image processing and fine-art printing.As in my others areas of expertise I do provide services by myself but also teaching, consulting and mentoring to my customers, who in many cases leverage the knowledge learnt from my to their own customers.I've started digging into the color management planet due to my own needs as a photographer but finally I decided to offer related services to the amateur, commercial and professional markets due to the lack of knowledge on this matter in those niches, and because the few other service providers were absolutely devoted to the graphics arts market, not providing services nor training to these other segments.

From day one in Alegua we offer to our customers state of the art web development based on the best practices applied to a bunch of selected CMS (Content Management Systems). We've done a lot of custom development from scratch when our customers does require that, but mostly we prefer to use CMSs like Drupal, Moodle, Wordpress and others in order to provide more maintainable and scalable solutions, which can also be furthermore maintained by in-house teams or others third parties like ourselves.I'm personally in charge of all the programming, hosting and any kind of technical duties at Alegua.

My job as COO at Avatar was mainly to review and to organize their internal procedures on every stage of their operations cycle. Every single step in the company flow (like gathering requirements of their customers, specifying the proposals for solutions based on these requirements, planning and developing the software solution to be delivered and its implementation) were reviewed and then optimized in terms of resource management based on each position's job description, which were redefined also during the process.The actual project management for each project and activity carried on by the company -and the required client access to them- was put under control using Jira as tool, due to its support for Scrum methodologies, a must have for the company's development teams.

American Outland was a company I've founded with my wife, Veronica Croza, devoted to the provision of solutions, training and consulting for the GIS market and GPS enthusiasts in Argentina and abroad.In American Outland we provided custom processed satellite imagery for the agricultural market and custom GIS data (in standardized formats) to be consumed by our customer's products (i.e. GPS and mapping devices).We also designed and produced GPS devices used by agricultural vehicles being official vendor of AGCO Allis in Argentina for their harvesting machines.During those years I've gained a lot of knowledge and experience as a developer in the GIS market, providing core technology for customers looking for libraries and reusable components to be used in their own solutions. A shareware product developed by my at that time (GEOPosCalc) is still available for download everywhere and was then a kind of "defacto standard" for geographical coordinates conversion operations.

At Collectivemind (one of the top LATAM e-builders during the internet boom) I had the responsibility of managing the IT and Software Development departments in the seven countries where the company had offices (US, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Mexico, Peru and Brazil) having more than 250 employees under my charge.My main task -besides to manage the day to day operations- was to implement a distributed project and resources management methodology in order to fully exploit the abilities of each country's team and to define and implement site-independent responsibilities to teams and individuals in order to optimize the people allocation and to ensure a best time to market delivery of the proposed solutions.Empowering individuals and helping to develop natural leaders from the whole crew was my main goal. Looking back I can say this process had a great success because most of these young team leaders are today successful managers and referents in their current positions in the industry worldwide.

I've started working with Microsoft some years before to my actual hiring. During that time -as a self employed developer- I've traveled to several countries in order to support and to train Microsoft's customers and also went many times to the Redmond Campus where I received training and insights in many emergent products and technologies in order to leverage that knowledge to my customers and to the Microsoft's developers community in the South Cone region.In 1996 they convinced me to accept a position as a full time employee in the just created MCS (Microsoft Consulting Services) for the Argentine subsidiary where I've spent all my years in the company, traveling most of that time.During those years my job was to help Microsoft's customers to achieve smooth implementations of the company's emerging products and technologies, specializing myself in development and internet infrastructure projects worldwide.I had the opportunity of lead and participate in dozens of high profile and mission critical projects like ISP data centers design and implementation (Arnet for Telecom Argentina, Ciudad Internet for Clarin and many others in Argentina, South Korea Telecom and others in Redmond, WA, US, El Colombiano in Medellin, Colombia and many others in Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, etc.) I've worked also as lead consultant in several projects for the most renowned internet startups with regional presence, like Patagon.com and many others helping them with their networking and internet infrastructure and development issues as well. One of my most cherished projects was to act as the Microsoft's technical leader during the implementation of the first real world SET (Secure Electronic Transactions protocol) e-commerce transaction in 1997, working with VISA LATAM having the honor of being recognized by VISA for being part of that historic milestone.
