I advise prospective, new, and current undergraduate students at a regional campus of the USF system serving primarily Manatee and Sarasota counties. I am the primary advisor for the B.A./B.S. Elementary Education and B.S. in Hospitality Management programs. I advise students on program completion and graduation, course scheduling, campus and system-wide policies, academic planning, and how to get involved on- and off-campus. I also work closely with faculty in both the College of Education and the College of Hospitality and Technology Leadership on curriculum and progression, experiential and clinical degree requirements, and student issues. Above all else, I am an advocate for students. Our Office of Student Services is a "one stop shop" for advising, admissions, financial aid, career services, veterans' services, and the Dean of Students. Advisors are cross-trained, so I may advise students in any program. I also assist in Orientation and recruitment events.

My primary function was to coordinate the Bronze level of the UNCG Leadership Challenge. To achieve the Bronze level, students must attend five 2-hour sessions focused on building the foundation of their values-based leadership, communication skills, and goal setting strategies. Students must also complete a series of reflection journals and log at least two hours of service. I facilitated sessions as well as completed all of the administration for the program including, setting and advertising the schedule, recruitment, progress tracking, advising, assessment, and record keeping. I also advise students attempting to work through all three levels (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) of the Leadership Challenge. I also conducted training for new facilitators on curriculum, facilitation, and administrative aspects. I also assisted in planning the end-of-the-year Medallion Ceremony, facilitated sessions and the administration of the program in co-curricular cohorts, and facilitator training.
