I am collaborating with different groups in the physics department of Johns Hopkins University for the study of materials exhibiting exotic quantum properties.

I worked in Prof. Marco Bernardi's group in the Applied Physics and Material Science Department at Caltech. I worked on the optical and transport properties of 2D materials by developing computational approaches for studying excitons and electron-phonon interaction in 2D material.- I use Jupyter notebooks to process output data from softwares to make plots, and to build simple theoretical models to study the basic physics about the problem I'm working on.

I worked in Prof. Li Yang's group on various topics in theoretical and computational condensed matter physics and material science. My primary focus is the electronic and optical properties of two-dimensional material. I use theoretical and computational tools to predict the electronic and optical properties of materials and understand the relation between their structure and functionality. - I frequently perform high throughput calculations on supercomputer clusters. To speed up to process, I wrote different bash scripts to generate input files and process output data. - The problem I study involves the integration of physical quantity in a small fraction of the total integration region (known as the Brillouin zone) near the origin (known as the Gamma point) and thus requires very dense grid sampling using the naive approach. I develop ways the speed up the process by orders of magnitude by leveraging the asymptotic behavior of the physical quantity near the Gamma point.

I worked as a summer intern in Sandia National Labs in Livermore for two consecutive summers, under the supervision of Dr. Catalin Spataru. I worked on theory and first-principles calculation of excitons in 2D materials and van der Waals heterostructures, which resulted in a first-author paper in Nano Letters.
