This position was a fixed contract for 2.5 months which I undertook before departing to Latin America, and I reported directly to the company founder and Managing Director (The Underwater Channel. TV is a wholly owned subsidiary of Babel Networks Ltd.) My main responsibility was to generate advertising for the launch, which happened on the 1st September 2008. I used my scuba diving contacts to gain advertising from various high end Scuba diving manufacturers, tourist boards and tour operators, many of which to this day are still advertising on the site. I also set up in excess of 20 meetings with key players in the industry at the Diving and Equipment Marketing Association trade show in Las Vegas. I attended each of the meetings, discussing ways in which the Channel could assist in this new advertising medium to the Scuba diving community.
