As the program’s Executive Director, Ms. Mason guided the growth of the statewide Laws of Life Essay Contest from 2006 until 2017. During that time, more than 530,000 Georgia teens wrote a Laws of Life essay on topics such as courage, compassion, generosity, and perseverance, and the contest awarded more than $225,000 in cash awards to students and teachers. In 2009, Ms. Mason oversaw the program’s transition from a small organization into a thriving, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit co-branded with Rotary International. Under Ms. Mason's leadership, Dr. John M Templeton, Jr., former president of the Templeton Foundation, called the Georgia Laws of Life program “a model of sustained excellence and stewardship.” www.georgialawsoflife.org
