I started the Seattle chapter of the national Hardware Meetup group. We aim to have quarterly symposium events with pre-planned speakers, and encourage social gatherings for the community in between.

I launched Dunbar with the intent of building the simplest event planning tool. Our mission is to enable more, richer human connections. Anyone can start using Dunbar without any login walls.

Advisor to hardware startups and mentor to hardware agency leadership

After 5 years PM'ing my own projects as an ME at Igor, I took on the responsibility of managing Igor's entire portfolio of projects. While building out the process and templates for the organization, I continued working directly with specific clients.- Led technical architecture for a PopSocket-sized voice assistant accessory through formation of a JDM partnership for MP, coordinating EE+ME with SMEs for low-power MCUs, intelligent microphones, wake-on-command algorithms, and high-density batteries—at a <$30 BOM cost.- Led R&D prototyping of a second-generation photobiomodulation (PBM) device from marketing requirements to soft tooling of a three-shot elastomer part with an embedded flexible circuit in 5 months, defining EE+ME interface requirements and collaborating closely with specialty molders.- Managed FW dev. of a low-power logging system for vaccine cold-transport through successful integration testing with existing systems in 4 months, by defining test cases focusing on critical interface and regulatory requirements.

In addition to the hats a founder at a 3-person org wears, I worked as an IC mechanical engineer. Some of my work included...- Brought up Foxlink manufacturing line for the Boosted Rev electric scooter control module through completion of DV1 build w/ <5% fallout, managing operator SOPs and training, IQC/OQC definition, management of molding vendors, and DoE to define a two-step USW sealing/assembly process.- Led ME development of Valve's next-gen "Knuckles" VR controller hardware through handoff to internal team after 3x200u EVT builds, managing 4 MEs in collaboration with 2 EEs to integrate multiple FPCs along all the controller’s internal surfaces.- Earned a patent with Intellectual Ventures for “Wearable haptic feedback devices and methods of fabricating wearable haptic feedback devices” (Patent #9741215; August 22, 2017), working with ID and fashion experts to integrate actuators and electronics directly into a fabric cap.

- Owned manufacturing transfer of MagicBand tap readers to Jabil through eng-ops handoff, by drafting process documentation and overseeing operator training on-the-line.- Updated assembly procedures for Philips AirFloss, resulting in reduction of sealing failures from 75% to <5% through investigation of ingress paths and DoE for potential solutions.

Assisted with the development and testing of a prototype medical device, including work assembling, testing, and brainstorming design solutions. Supported compilation of design histories, theory of operation, and appliance concept documentation.

Headed the student government of Martel College (a Rice residence hall). Charged with overseeing building maintenance, leading weekly student meetings and representing Martel to the Rice Student Association and the Rice University administration.

Administered room draw at Martel College (a Rice University residence hall) and handling all space and property usage requests. Served as a proxy representative of the College to campus wide organizations.

Conducted interviews of prospective undergraduates for the Rice University Admissions Office.

Created a C++ data sorting application to ease administrative interfacing with Mimic's virtual training environments for the Intuitive Surgical DaVinci robot. Also assisted with the creation of storyboard art to illustrate future implementations of the Mimic Mantis Duo haptic interface.

Chief graphic designer for a weekly student newspaper, completing specialty graphics, infographics, and feature spreads. Completed a complete redesign of the paper's visual aesthetic (as a member of a 3-man team) in the Spring of 2008.

Worked as a summer intern assisting with the creation and production of graphics requested by internal departments.

Supervised volunteers and staff during summer camps. Assisted and occasionally led practices for upper level teams. Taught private lessons on evenings and weekends.
