CurrentI lead two teams in the Engineering organization that are becoming increasingly important as Squarespace grows. TPM: currently leadingTechnical Writing: led from May 2018 through July 2022Technical Program Managers make shipping software easier and more predictable.Technical Writers create internal documentation and empower engineers to write good content. Since I've started, I have created a structure and vision for a loosely structured team of talented folks who had all recently joined the company.Specifically, I- structure and staff the team according to business needs and high-priority projects- drive OKR planning across all of Engineering- work across company leadership to refine planning processes- set team strategy and vision, as well as tactics on how to achieve those- define team culture via code of conduct, hiring processes, and daily interactions- lead a team of ~26 team members (4 managers and 22 individual contributors)- conduct performance and compensation reviews- set development plans for each team member and - directly or indirectly - coach them to grow in skillset and title- manage all team budget (compensation, learning and development, culture)- manage hiring - created and defined job levels- defined core competencies for TPMs- created a new hiring process
