Second member of the Netscape Compass Server team, which provided search engine and content management solutions for enterprises. Contributed to first two releases. Early Java adopter, created Netscape’s first Java Application Suite and Java SDK. Developed a sophisticated OO component architecture and used it to implement UI tools for managing Compass servers.

Ingres was a leading RDBMS vendor. Responsible for Windows4GL Application Editor/Manager. Led four development engineers and two test engineers. Took on a troubled project, delivered on a tight schedule. Planned future directions. Developed new features, implemented Windows NT look and feel, streamlined and improved UI. Tools Group Architecture Committee, Language Review Committee.

Managed Ingres Server QA groups: RDBMS QA, Distributed RDBMS QA and Gateway QA. Set direction, developed schedules and budgets. Prior to management, was responsible for query optimization/execution & referential integrity QA. Developed a simple weighted substitution language generating pseudo random strings used for automated, controlled query generation. Created tools for test development, management and tracking.
