Employed primarily as a combat engineer but with the opportunities to carry out construction projects utilizing my plumbing skills and thereby enhancing my construction experience.Deployed to a number of foreign countries with the highlight being a 6 month operational tour to Afghanistan successfully operating in an Improvised Explosive Devices search role within a specialist team, a role generally attributed to a soldier expected beyond my rank and experience; I received many positive plaudits for my duty in this role.

Successfully attended an 8 month full time plumbing course. The course focused on all the practical installation and maintenance aspects of any plumbing systems encountered in both civilian domestic and military infrastructure. On successfully completing the course, I qualified formally as a Military Engineer Plumber.Attended and passed the core Royal Engineer combat and field engineering course. During the course, in addition to further basic leadership skills, I was trained in all field engineering aspects including improvised engineering solutions for relief operations, non-equipment bridging, supplying drinking water, moving loads over open areas, use of hand and power tools, reinforcing structures, concreting and general engineering principles.

A military preparation college for selected young individuals prior to formally joining the ranks of the British Army.The objective of the College is to teach and prepare the students, in additional to basic military skills, leadership, initiative and life skills with the aim to make the individual not just a good soldier but also an exemplary citizen.
