As a financial planning intern, I made improvements to the business planning process; these improvements produce efficiency gains that lead to an optimized business plan.Using SQL and Visio, I created documentation for the international small package planning process that consists of flowcharts and inserts showing how data flows through the process. The documentation allows one to easily pinpoint where problems are occuring and evaluate what sources the data is coming from; it increases organization and expedites financial analysis.In addition, I utilized SQL and Excel to build automated control total, expense, and vol/rev audits. These audits reduce the time/effort required to create reports and allows the business planning team to focus on fine tuning the plan. They will allow the team to quickly catch any issues to be addressed and will expedite financial analysis during the planning process.I also performed financial analysis in order to help answer logs recieved from various regions.

CrossTrainers is a mentoring program that has been serving the Athens-area since 2000, and it aims to facilitate lasting relationships between at-risk youth in the Athens area and college students at the University of Georgia. CrossTrainers is committed to providing consistancy and love in the lives of children that may not otherwise receive it.In this role, I had number of financial responsibilities: For example, I used Excel to formulate the annual program budget and helped raise capital by writing grant proposals and requesting donations from sponsors. In addition, I helped plan and oversee all CrossTrainers events including recruiting events, social events for the kids and their mentors and fundraising events such as the annual 5K. As a mentor through the program, my role also included providing support and leadership for a child through weekly meetings.
