Provide IT design, configuration, integration and operational support for NextEra Energy’s Emergency Preparedness Mobile Response IT kit solutions including Portable Offices/Pods, Logistics Registration Unit’s, Mobile Command Centers, Community Response Vehicles and Cabinet based Mobile Response Kits. For Florida Power and Light, I provide lead telecom support for their Storm Network and provide field support for new network implementations for the West Florida support area, For Nextera Energy Resources, I remotely provide 3rd tier support for telecom (Wired,Wireless Access/Bridging, and Voice) for more than 100 sites though out the United States, Canada and Europe. Most equipment support is Cisco based (wired, wireless and telephony) as well as Avocent, APC, Checkpoint and Riverbed equipment implementations. Responsible for transition off of Nortel Passport 6400 routers/Option xx Series PBX to Cisco hardware for data and IPT implementation.

Perform field support for both Telecom and Desktop equipment. Lead performer in supporting Nortel, Cisco, Bay Network, Wellfleet, Nokia and Juniper Network Switches and Routers and Nortel Voice Switching equipment. My service area encompasses Southwest Florida from Tampa south to Naples. I have supported many new projects since taking this position including a reconfiguration of FPL’s Storm Router Network creating a new configuration that can be deployed within 24hour with no reconfiguration and the implementation of staging nodes that cut deployment time by 75%. I have been involved with providing procedures for deployment of new Cisco equipment in our network, documenting and providing desktop and telecom support for our sites outside of Florida.

Responsibilities include network monitoring via several tools including HP Openview, Tivoli with Enterprise Console and NetView, Fluke Optiview, Sniffers, CapTrend, NetManage Probes, Netviz as well as knowledge of the equipment itself primarily based with Nortel and Cisco enterpise networking products. Network provisioning, service implementation, and Network Administration are performed for this position.

Directed all unit, functional, system and regression phases of product testing. Testing included LAN (Ethernet and Token Ring), WAN (Frame Relay and ATM), voice for analog and digital (FXS, FXO, E&M 1,2 and 5, E1, T1, CAS, CCS), network management (SNMP/OPEN VIEW Based), and HTML/JAVA/Active-X based GUI applications. The projects included Micom Marathon, Passport 44xx, Micom Vision Manager (HP OpenView based), Micom Voice over IP Gateway, Passport 64/74xx and Passport 47xx. Started new test plan templates, additionally implementing a new issue tracking database for product defects during the development and validation processes. Held the positions of Lab Manager and Calibration Coordinator concurrently as well as the ISO 9000 coordinator. Also responsible for implementing ISO 9003 certification for the Research and Development department.
