Software Development Engineer Iii
Current▪ Disambiguated requirements for data synchronization and compliance to support EHR integration. Worked with stakeholders to deep dive into clinical workflows and use cases, propose new UX flows, and design technical solutions that could be launched in phases. Defined an 18-month roadmap for deliveries.▪ Created high level designs for two integration deliverables – Encounter Creation and Order Ingestion. These designs introduced foundational components for consuming events of clinical data changed in the EHR and for creating documentation entities in the EHR and mapping those to internal entities. Led development with 5 engineers. Reduced documentation setup time by 60% (from ~3s to 1s, 12 clicks to 1).▪ Proposed new data modeling for clinical data storage to decouple unique documentation use cases and to enable independent state management of clinical data entities.▪ Became certified as an AWS Security Guardian. Oversaw security reviews and GEAR compliance reviews for a new event-based architecture that would enable Identity data to be synchronized across differently-optimized datastores.▪ Implemented and launched a workflow improvement which relied on DDB snapshot functionality rather than table scans to send data to the Anti-Entropy system, allowing the data to be compared daily rather than weekly.▪ Investigated and root-caused a propagation delay seen in the event bus architecture. Proposed a new integration method relying on Kinesis Data Streams and prototyped this solution, observing a 95% reduction in latency.
